Biomechanics & Gait Analysis

It is widely known that many injuries and conditions related to the foot, ankle, knee, hip and lower back can be caused by irregular foot mechanics.

Firstly, a physical examination will be undertaken followed by a digital analysis using our dynamic planter plate system which provides us with same day data collection. If required a running gait analysis can also be conducted.

Our experienced podiatrist will analyse the findings and evaluate whether any irregularities are detected in your foot function whilst walking or running. If necessary, a treatment plan will be tailored around your needs to reduce stress and strain on the affected area.

Whilst walking and running, the foot and ankle depends on three functions.

  • Absorbing shock
  • Adapting to uneven surfaces
  • Becoming a rigid lever for efficient propulsion

All three functions are required to support efficient foot mechanics.  At the clinic, our primary goal is to identify the underlying cause of your pain and improve you with efficient treatment to get you back reaching your goals as promptly as possible.

Fortunately, our podiatrist is fully qualified and experienced to administer local anaesthetic and perform nail surgery as and when required.

In growing toenail treatment includes

  • Pre surgery assessment
  • Administration of local anaesthetics
  • Partial or total nail removal
  • Dressing & Re dressing advice
  • Further follow up to check healing

Verruca Treatment

At Y Pod we know how frustrating, irritating and self-conscious verruca and warts can be. Verruca Is also known as the human papilloma virus is a highly contagious viral lesion which can infect the epidermis (the outer layer of the skin)

We can use several approaches to remove the verruca and stimulate an immune response.

Our podiatrist is trained in a range of verruca treatment approaches and will conduct a thorough assessment to determine the most appropriate treatment plan based on your clinical presentation and medical history.
